Highlights from Summer 2009

We had a very fun but busy summer. So busy that it has taken me until November to post! I think we are almost recovered. Here are the highlights:

Paige turned two! Where has the time gone? We celebrated with visits from Aunt Leslie and Rachel, Keith, Kade and Riley.

We enjoyed meeting a lot of cousins and extended family at the Gallegos Family Reunion.

This included a visit from Great Grandma Theresa.

Swimming, swimming and more swimming. We spent a lot of time swimming at Grandpa and Grandma Gleason's house.

Laney didn't do much swimming but she enjoyed lounging by the pool.

We have many new friend that were born this summer.

Our friends Dave and Krista had a huge garden this year. We visited "the farm" regularly to pick corn, potatoes, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans and more! Paige got to sit on the tractor and loved to feed Dave and Krista's dog, Vegas.

We were lucky enough to go on several weekend camping trips to Donnelly with Grandpa Al and Grandma Sandi.

Over Labor Day Shantel and Parker (my niece and nephew) spent several days with my Dad and Mary. Shantel was so excited to play with Paige and Laney. She treated them like the little sisters she has always wanted!

In early September we went to Art in the Park. Paige had her first experience painting. She loved it!

Fall Fun

Here are some pictures from our visit to the Pumpkin Patch and Halloween. We visited friends and family Halloween night. Fortunately, Paige didn't figure out that she was given candy every time she said "Trick-Or-Treat" until the end of the evening. Thanks Aunt Shaunna for the cute Minnie Mouse costume!

We took a trip to the Fire Station with Fireman Dave and his niece Charlotte. Paige and Charlotte had a great time checking out the trucks and fireman gear. Ducky got to come along for the ride too!

Laney had her first taste of solid food. Mmmm Mmmm Rice Cereal. What a treat!

4 months already?

It's hard to believe that our little Laney is already 4 months old. At her 4 month doctors appointment she weighed in at 14 lbs. 12 oz. and 24 1/2 inches long (about 70th percentile). She is a mellow, easy going baby. She has found her voice and likes to "talk" and "sing". She has also started laughing. In August Laney started going to daycare 2 days a week. She seems to be doing fine and the daycare staff have fallen in love with her. Paige loves having her sister at "school" with her as well.

And then there were two...

Dan and I have spent the last six weeks adjusting to life with two kids - and it's going pretty well. Laney is a sweet, beautiful baby. She spends most of her time sleeping, eating or pooping. She is still a little confused on her days and nights or she has figured out that the only time she gets my undivided attention is in the middle of the night. Good for her. Not so good for me.

Laney - 6 weeks

Paige is at a really fun age. She is learning so much and she always keeps us laughing. She loves to be outside. Some of her favorite activities are watering the flowers (and rocks and grass), playing on her slide and eating Popsicles. She is talking nonstop and loves to sing. Paige is a very helpful big sister. She is always trying to rock Laney in her cradle or car seat and likes to give Laney her binky, whether she wants it or not.

We have had a fun spring. We spent Memorial Day weekend with the Gleason family. It was a great opportunity for Laney to meet all of her aunts, uncles and cousins. We all had a great time swimming and playing at Grandma & Grandpa Gleason's house.
